We know that some of you have had problems with the document editor. There are currently two different editors for Nextcloud, Collabora Online and OnlyOffice. Both official plugins have some serious issues - there are syncing problems with OnlyOffice and performance issues with Collabora Online.
This is unfortunately something that is outside of our control and that affects the whole Nextcloud community, not just us. That being said, we have spent a lot of time lately trying out different alternatives, and will keep trying to find a long term solution.
Collabora Online seems like the best option at the moment and we are switching to that now for all installations, and would really appreciate your feedback about how it works and if there are any issues.
Technical note: we will install the Docker version instead of the Nextcloud plugin to avoid the performance issues, the url for your document server will be https://collabora.yoursubdomain.collective.tools:443
